Please check to see if you are eligible to vote for the 2022 Wikimedia Board of Trustees election (Aug 23 to Sep 6, 2022) [1]. All editors are eligible to vote through one account if that account is:

- not blocked in more than one project

- and not a bot account

- and has made at least 300 edits before 5 July 2022 across Wikimedia wikis

- and has made at least 20 edits between 5 January 2022 and 5 July 2022.

There is an online tool [2] available to check if you are eligible under the criteria listed above. If not, please check the additional criteria [3]. Some possible paths to eligibility that may apply to you:

- If you a Wikimedia software developer who works on Wikimedia repos, skins, tools, bots, user scripts, gadgets or Lua modules.

- If you were a member of formal bodies as defined in the bylaws of the current Wikimedia Chapters, thematic organizations or user groups as of July 5, 2022

- If you have applied for, received and reported on at least one Wikimedia Foundation grant since 1 September 2021, or

- If you were an organizer of at least one funded hackathon, competition or other Wikimedia event with on-wiki documentation and at least 10 attendees/visitors/participants between 5 January 2022 and 5 July 2022.

If you meet any of the eligibility criteria listed on the website that cannot be checked automatically, please e-mail board-elections@wikimedia.org with the reasoning at least four days before the last date for voting i.e. on or before August 27, 2022.

Dear Affiliate,

I am reaching out to you today about the community voting period for the 2022 Board of Trustees election. The community will select two of the six candidates still in the running. The affiliate organizations voted to select the six candidates in July.

Members of affiliates might be eligible to vote even if they do not meet other criteria. Please review the voter eligibility criteria and share this information with your membership. Your membership can also verify their individual eligibility using the Account Eligibility Tool.

Please reply to this email with the list of usernames who should be eligible to vote by August 14 at 11:59 pm UTC. There is no need to include people who are eligible under the other voter eligibility criteria. The Elections Committee will review the list and then add the voters to the list of eligible voters.
