Happy New Year 2019 ! - Wikimedia-tn

Dear Wikimedia Tn members,
2018 has been an accomplishing year for our group by organising the WikiIndaba Conference
in Tunis which was a great success despite the limited human ressources of our group.
Thank you all for making this conference happening in our country.

Following WikiIndaba, a Wiki Indaba Steering Committee (WISCom) has been set in place and
two of our members : Zeineb and Houssem are now members of it. Well done Zeineb and
Houssem and good luck for the next WikiIndaba !
During 2018 our valuable members did a lot actions and organised many events to promote
Wikimedia projects and the Open Knowledge in Tunisia. Some of these event have been
gratefully reported her by Sami (Kudos Sami !).
Our members had the opportunity to represent our country in several Wikimedia
conferences:  Wikimedia Conference in Berlin, Wikimania in Cape Town and recently in
WikiConvention Grenoble. Thank you all for being the ambassadors of Tunisia ! 
2018 was also market by the re-elction and the election of Emna and Sami in the AffCom, we
wish them good luck for the rest of their term.
As for our member Afek she was selected to take part of a three month training with
Wikimedia Germany. This was an excellent news for Afek and for our community. We wish her
good luck for this journey and we are sure she will learn a lot from our german
freinds. Viel Glück Afek ! 
For our tireless Habib, 2018 was for him the year of his nomination as a member of
the Ombudsman commission. Bravo Habib ! 
During this year we registered also the come back after a wiki pause of one of founding
members of our Group Wael, who will represent Tunisia during the next Wikimedia Summit
2019 in Berlin. Welcome Back Wael ! 

Regarding the Wikimedia Summit 2019, three members of our group will be there in Berlin:
Wael, Hamed and Youssef which is a sign on how much are our members are actively involved
in the Wikimedia movement. Good luck for all of them.
Thank you All. We couldn’t have achieved any of this without your hard work ! 

We are now ahead of a new year and I would like first of all to wish you a wonderful and a
happy new year 2019. May you have a promising and fulfilling New Year!
And because the new year will bring its own challenges i would like to invite you to a
group meeting newt week to discuss our activities for 2019 and agree on a PEG grant.
