We are pleased to invite you to attend "A Right to Research in Africa? A Week of Debates on Copyright and Access to Knowledge", taking place in South Africa and virtually on Zoom 23-27 January 2023.This event highlights how international and domestic copyright law helps promote modern research uses in Africa, such as in text and data mining, natural language processing and machine learning, as well as through the preservation activities of cultural heritage institutions.
The event partners and speakers include representatives of top academic institutions, cultural heritage institutions, and copyright officials in South Africa, Cameroon, Kenya, Nigeria, Senegal, Uganda, the United States, Switzerland, Canada and Brazil. We expect over 400 attendees live or in person.
