I agree with Yamen and will not complain that someone takes free time to organize a photo tour in the medina with Jamel. This is indeed an already well covered area even though 9 monuments in Tunis (
https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Liste_des_monuments_classés_du_gouvernorat_de_Tunis, most in the medina if I am not wrong) do not have any picture yet and others only have a few. If possible, I would focus the tour on some of them rather than well covered places (unless we can access some hidden/unphotographed areas there).
I think though Houssem is rightly commenting about communication around this event. If someone in this group is organizing anything anywhere, especially under the umbrella of WMTN, I think this is legitimate this list is at least notified, if no support is needed, or consulted upfront to get ideas and support. If people within the group are taken by surprise, imagine the situation for our audience who were told for weeks that Tunisia do not participate to WLM this year (still the case on Commons), then to be told differently few days before the end of the contest. The goal is also to share tasks so to avoid one individual has to take care of everything. If anyone does not feel comfortable to share their projects here, please speak out so we can improve as a group. I am also more than happy to provide support and share tips in terms of event planning if needed.
This being said, can we confirm if we truly speak about a contest or just a photo tour? Keep in mind a contest requires a jury and prizes for participants. Last year, the group was in an uncomfortable situation where people were invited to submit pictures for a contest, then did not receive prizes and complained publicly. We must not fall into the same trap again. The FB event that I think Houssem refers to speaks about a contest so further steps before/after the tour must be done. If the organizer of the tour can confirm, that would be great so we ensure communication does not leave room for interpretation and support can be provided in any needed area.
