Do you care about Wikipedia Search and are you able to write plain English? Here is an interesting activity where you can help:
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/QA/Browser_testing/Search_features
After 4 months at the WMF I have seen many demos about browser test automation. Tomorrow will be the day when I will finally attempt to write a feature description in plain English, just like e.g.
Feature: Search
Scenario: Search suggestions Given I am at random page When I search for: main Then a list of suggested pages should appear And Main Page should be the first result
If I can, you can - for the good of your beloved piece of software. Please join us at 10am PST at #wikimedia-dev IRC and have your first feature description written an hour later. If you are busy at that time no problem, you can do it later and we can also help you.
All IRC channels should be logged in a public place. One of the drums I've been beating for ten years now.
However, why isn't this discussion entitled, "How Wikipedia is going to stop using internal searching" ?

Another of the rare times that dgerard and I agree on something.
Open is open. Is the Foundation open or not?
