Dear all,
The San Francisco get together to celebrate Wikipedia's 10th anniversary is finally coming together! Please join us for the (1st?) West Coast Wiki Conference, on January 15, 2011 -- "Wikipedia Day". We'll have a participant-created conference schedule all day, and will have some very special guests and speakers including Ward Cunningham, developer of wiki technology. We will celebrate wikis and Wikipedia, brainstorm on topics of participant interest, and talk about what we imagine for the next 10 years of Wikipedia and the collaborative web.
The conference will be in San Francisco, at the HUB SoMa: an art and technology co-working space that features lots of reconfigurable space and is very easily accessible by public transit. In the evening, we'll finish up with a very special 10th anniversary party hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation (details coming soon).
Tickets are $25, which covers lunch and morning snacks and the rent on the conference space. You can reserve a spot through EventBrite:http://wcwc2011.eventbrite.com/ <%20http://wcwc2011.eventbrite.com/%20%3E There's only room for about 100 people, so please register today.
For more on the event, to volunteer (we need help!), or to start brainstorming about program topics, please visit our wiki at http://2011.westcoastwikicon.org.
This event is a volunteer-led, participant created effort brought to you by members of the informal San Francisco Wikimedia meetup group. To get involved in the meetup group, you can join our mailing list at: https://lists.wikimedia.org/mailman/listinfo/wikimedia-sf
