It was raining pretty hard last time we met up;
didn't stop us then. But
they did say it will rain pretty hard. I usually take BART when I go to
these events, and I suggest those of you who try to cross the Bay Bridge to
do so as well, since you won't have to worry about the winds and such. Just
make sure you bring a good umbrella though.

The $64,000 question is whether we can do an event tomorrow midday without
getting rained on severely...
Weather usually doesn't factor that significantly into planning here, but
the storm coming in on Saturday is predicted to be strong enough to somewhat

Hope you don't mind me barging in in the group. Thank you for all the
to come our way for a tv-shoot tomorrow. For our director Ice van
Veelen I was already trying to get into SFPL but there are heavy filming
restrictions. I have now asked Sherri Eng of Library PR if the Meetings
Rooms are a possibility. Will let you know as soon as I hear back from her.

The Public library system does have meeting rooms at their
branches and the
main library. This would require a dedicated effort to get
it started, application and rules to review and submit. Most rooms are free
unless there are special AV and food needs.
While its not enough time for tomorrow, this could be a topic of
if folks were interested in getting a consistent, chatable and
easy to get to meeting space that could be upgraded as AV needs require.
I'm sure there are some fabulous places to dine in and around most of the

Mediterranean sounds great! Brion and I are pretty much
anything. I imagine a price range would be in the $10-$15 for food
and drink per person? We've been pretty homebound since I broke my foot in
Cary - maybe we can carpool it?
Anyone a member of Mechanics' Institute Library <
? I do believe that one of the
benefits of membership is to have access to conference rooms for meetings.
Not sure if there is a fee involved.
Do any of the public libraries offer meeting rooms for
this? I'll see what I can dig up on line for future reference.
So this is a sure thing? What time are we going to do it?
