Hi all!
Wiknic is coming up on June 13th: [full event info and registration is here](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Event:Bay_Area_Wiknic_2026).
We expect that, as usual, it will bring many readers. So we need volunteers to talk about their editing! If this is you please fill this form with your teeshirt size so we can screenprint it with this year's design: https://forms.gle/4CA3XzJJP99TqHzB9
If you have suggestions about activities at the event - we are planning the usual crafts (we'll have magnets this time!) and screenprinting station - let us know!
Cheers,
Emeline

Dear all,
[Nerd nite](https://sf.nerdnite.com/), a monthly event series where speakers share about a topic they're passionate about is searching for speakers for their June 17th and July 15th shows. This could be about Wikipedia itself - or it can be about a topic you're passionate about!
At the last show we went to, talks were about karaoke, [USS "Willie Dee"](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/USS_William_D._Porter_(DD-579)), and the [drunken monkey hypothesis](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drunken_monkey_hypothesis).
If this is something you'd be interested by, please email me back, and I'll put you in touch with the organizers.
We'll also be advertising the salons there; and we've been invited to table next to the library and encourage people to become editors. If this is something you'd like to volunteer for, let us know!
Cheers,
Émeline
Good morning,
I just wanted to take a quick minute to provide information, especially for
people who are new to the mailing list. Hope this doesn't feel like spam.
Anyways, if you're not aware, we have a *Discord server:*
https://discord.com/invite/RAa5CggchJ
<https://discord.com/invite/RAa5CggchJ>. Everyone is free to join! And once
you join, remember to type */auth* to unlock all of the channels.
And I want to let people know: we (the organizing committee) make
announcements on this mailing list, but it's absolutely not announce only!
In the spirit of open knowledge and inclusivity, *everyone is free to post
to this mailing list*.
Try it now! Reply to me and everyone on this email. Introduce yourself,
drop a link to a fun, weird or just really informative/well-written
article. What are you working on in the Wikiverse? What are your interests?
I know many of you have met at our meetups/WikiSalons of course, but I just
wanted to let everyone know about the communication channels we have
available to you all.
And here's a final DYK:
*Did you Know...that the BAWUG page is located on meta-wiki and is, you
know, a wiki and full**y editable by all of you? *

all of our digital spaces as well, are guided by the Universal Code of
