Hi all!
A reminder for the five(!) wiki events next week:
- Our meetup on Thursday the 12th at 6.30 pm at Double Union in the Mission District. Please register here so that we can plan for food and drinks: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Event:Bay_Area_Meetup_February_2026. All details are on the event page, but we will be having lightning talks about how to improve articles and earn "good article" status, our local pages project, and we should have a presentation on Wikimedia Commons. If there is a skill you've learned and would like to share, please add yourself to the schedule!
- Depths of Wikipedia is in town for a live show on Friday the 13th at 7pm. A number of us are going: join us! We will probably go for drinks after. If you cannot afford a ticket, please let us know as we were offered a (limited) number of guest passes. There'll also be a shootout to the user group :)
- University of Berkeley is hosting an editathon (online) on Wednesday the 11th at 12. [Register here](https://berkeley.libcal.com/event/16182783?f=h).
- Stanford is hosting hybrid Wikidata editathons on [Wednesday](https://events.stanford.edu/event/wikidata-edit-a-thon) and [Friday](https://events.stanford.edu/event/2026-wikidata-edit-a-thon-perform…. We were invited to join and some of us are making the trip.
Save the date for March!
We will be hosting a [WikiGameJam](https://wikigamejam.org) from March 13 to 15. The evening of March 13 will be for talks and open to everyone. March 14 and 15 will be for gamejam participants. If you want to participate as a Wikipedian, Game Developer or Game Designer, please save the date and let your friends know!
We are also working to schedule a Wikiportraits workshop, an editathon for Women History month and a Wiki+AI workshop. We will likely push next month meetup to after the GameJam. We'll share updates as soon as possible!
Best,
