Hi everyone!
Thank you all for coming to the meetup yesterday!
Lots happened!
- Rosiestep gave our first remote presentation, on Wiki Women in Red. Find [her slides and call to action here](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:2025_Bay_Area_Wikipedians_-_Demyst…. If you create a page after being inspired by the presentation, let us know! Thank you for bearing with us through tech difficulties - we'll be better prepared for next time...
- We discussed and implemented changes to our membership and voting process! You can find the final version here: https://meta.m.wikimedia.org/wiki/Talk:Bay_Area_Wikipedians_User_Group#Memb… . Thank you to everyone who volunteered to become a member. If I missed anyone when I gathered user IDs and email addresses for people wanting to become members, please let me know.
- We heard from the developer of https://factorday.com/, a series of games and puzzles based on the Wiki API. Check it out!
Wiki loves Pride
- There's been too much to do to and not enough funding to organize a big event this year, but we are thinking of hosting an online editathon on Tuesday the 24th, in the evening. Event invite forthcoming.
- Our very own @Audiodude also generated a list of stubs about LGBT+ media such as movies that can be improved. The full list of suggested articles is here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Event:Wiki_Loves_Pride/2025/Suggested_articles.
- Wikimedia LGBT is also organizing an online editathon on the 29th at 8am. Registration here: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/x8YLPlMZRXqg0q8UA6VCHg#/registrati…
Wiknic / July meetup
Our July meetup will be on the 12th, a Saturday, at 10.30am. This is a potluck and a social event (with some crafts, a screenprinting station and wiki games). Please register here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Event:Bay_Area_Wiknic_2025 and invite others who may have an interest in Wikipedia. It has not been announced by central banner yet, but last year we had a large number of registration, so we welcome all help by Wikimedia editors interested in talking to the broader public about their work.
That's all for today!
See you next month.

Hi all!
In the last email, we mentioned working on a membership and voting proposal to reapply for recognition as a user group, and invited contributions.
Thank you to everyone who's helped putting this together! Here is the draft for additional comments and thoughts:

Two ways to suggest modifications or additions: by commenting on meta, or attending the meetup next Thursday (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Event:Bay_Area_Meetup_June_2025)
Have a good weekend,
