DVC Wikipedia Edit-a-thon for Black History Month

Hi all: There's a Wikipedia Edit-a-thon going on in Pleasant Hill at the Diablo Valley College Library tomorrow in honor of Black History Month. Since I work in Pleasant Hill and I've been looking for an excuse to visit DVC, I'll be making an appearance and possibly helping out. I'm thinking one of these systems with cameras and microphones that can follow who's speaking. They're not too expensive secondhand, but I thought I'd check here first. Isn't that the sort of thing that the Foundation should be reimbursing user groups for? Or is wikimedia-sf not an official user group yet?

March meetup

Hi everyone, We are meeting next month on March 13th, 6.30-8.30pm. RSVP link and venue will come a little later - we're hoping to start having the meetings closer to Bart! at hackerspace Double Union ([650 Florida St](https://www.google.com/maps/place/650+Florida+St+suite+m,+San+Francisco…), but I still need to check there are enough folding chairs for a large(r) group. This is another way to say that it's amazing to have grown from 2 to 5 attendees when we started in 2022, to 13 attendees despite horrible weather! Thought provoking article on editor doxing

Hi folks, I think this is a really well written and well researched article on some of the challenges with establishing consensus on politically charged topics, the dangers of doxing editors, and the possible capabilities of malicious actors with access to data brokers/online profiling data. It certainly makes me wonder, do any of the tools I build or use that "vacuum up" Wikipedia data (via APIs and other means) make it possible for these threats to exist? It also makes me reflect on discussions around expiring Quarry query results. A major stated goal was to protect editor privacy, but there was pushback from technical editors along the lines of "this inconveniences me" and "someone could just get the data another way".
