*Wikipedia turns 25* on this 15th January 2026, marking a remarkable milestone in the journey of free and open knowledge. This anniversary is not just a celebration of a website, but of the millions of volunteers and communities who have collaboratively built, sustained and enriched Wikipedia over the time. [image: WP25_Birthday_cake.gif] Wikimedia communities across India are warmly invited to participate, organize and celebrate this historic occasion in their own unique ways and many of them have already started celebrating it.. :)

To help document and showcase these celebrations, we have *a page to list Wikipedia 25th birthday events happening across India* https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Event:Wikipedia_25/India.[1] The aim is to make this a shared space where communities, affiliates and individuals can add and share details about their planned or ongoing events, activities and celebrations with the border communities.
