Dear Wikimedians,

Wikipedia turns 25 on this 15th January 2026, marking a remarkable milestone in the journey of free and open knowledge. This anniversary is not just a celebration of a website, but of the millions of volunteers and communities who have collaboratively built, sustained and enriched Wikipedia over the time.

To help document and showcase these celebrations, we have a page to list Wikipedia 25th birthday events happening across India.[1] The aim is to make this a shared space where communities, affiliates and individuals can add and share details about their planned or ongoing events, activities and celebrations with the border communities.

All communities and affiliates are warmly invited to join the celebrations by:

• Add your Wikipedia 25th related events to this page
• Create individual event pages and add to the documentation page
• Share ideas, resources and plans so we can celebrate together as one movement

This is a collective effort and your contributions will help reflect the diversity, energy and collaborative spirit of the Wikimedia community in India; from big cities to small towns, from long-time contributors to new volunteers.
