Dear Mr. Zhan,

I hope this email finds you well. This is to follow-up on our conversation in Kazan City Hall on 6 September 2018 during UNESCO ASPNET National Coordinators meeting, dedicated to the 65th Anniversary of the movement. I was one of the simultaneous interpreters working at the event, speaking to you in my capacity as a local volunteer of Wikimedia movement.

Currently our interaction with UNESCO is developing in the framework of WikiProject:United Nations, but I see other avenues for cooperation as well. We have a strong Wikipedia Education Program globally, as well as some examples thereof in the Russian Federation. As a national chapter, we have recently completed Open Library Project funded by the Russian Presidential Grants Foundation, now applying for a similar one to introduce Russia's secondary & vocational schools, as well as universities in various regions to related opportunities in Education.

Hands-on education using IT is very important tool to promote media & information literacy, so it was a please to discover that UNESCO IITE is actually located in Moscow & it will be so easy for us in Russia to develop this cooperation, whenever circumstances will allow.

Thank you very much for the opportunity to speak.

regards,
farhad
