Hi Houcemeddine Turki, Denny Vrandecic, Lydia Pintscher, Peter Norvig, Laurence Moroney, Wikidatans and All,

CC-4 MIT OCW-centric wiki World University and School as a research university (and planning online major research universities in all ~200 countries) will write a letter of support for this project.  (And as you may all know WUaS donated itself to Wikidata for co-development in 2015 and received WUaS Miraheze MediaWiki in 2017 as a consequence but they're not yet interoperable in any of Wikidata's ~300 languages yet).

World University and School is also planning online Medical Schools with online teaching hospitals for online clinical care in ~200 countries' official/main languages, and online clinical trials in each of all 7111 known living languages - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Clinical_Trials_at_WUaS_(for_all_languages) - with remarkable career opportunities for Wikidatans.

As president of CC-4 MIT OCW-centric wiki World University and School and exploring further collaboration opportunities with Wikidata as well, CC-4 MIT OpenCourseWare-centric World University and School is developing not only our ~200 planned online Medical Schools - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/World_University_Medical_School - with ~200 online teaching hospitals - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Hospital - for online clinical care, as well as online clinical research and trials in 7,111 known living languages - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Clinical_Trials_at_WUaS_(for_all_languages) - as well as ~200 online law schools - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/World_University_Law_School - both Medical Schools and Law Schools planned in all ~200 countries - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Nation_States - and in their official languages - https://wiki.worlduniversityandschool.org/wiki/Languages. World University and School is also planning great numbers of academic careers for potentially Wikidatans, in all 7111 living languages - and seeks to become the MIT / Harvard / Oxbridge of the Internet.

Perhaps this email will serve an initial letter of support for your efforts, but I look forward to learning, Houcemeddine, more specifically what kind of letter of support might be further helpful.

Thank you.

All the best,
Scott

Dear all,
I thank you for your efforts. I am honoured to inform you that we are managing to launch a research unit dealing with Data Science research in Tunisia. This research unit is named "Data Engineering and Semantics". It belongs to Computer Science and Communications Department, Faculty of Sciences of Sfax, University of Sfax. The group will be led by Dr. Mohamed BEN AOUICHA (https://scholar.google.ca/citations?user=XPVUu-gAAAAJ&hl=fr). He was the person behind the project of University of Sfax about the use of Wikipedia and Wiktionary in semantic technologies, particularly semantic similarity measures. We need this research unit to have Wikimedia Researchers in the University of Sfax affiliated to an official research structure. The main goal of the unit is to promote and monitor research efforts about Data Engineering and Semantic Technologies in the University of Sfax. Data Enginering and Semantic Technology researches are needed to ameliorate the usage and processing of knowledge bases including wikis. Effectively, we will work in this unit to develop tools to ameliorate linked data quality of Wikidata and to use Wikidata for a variety of purposes including clinical decision support, Natural Language Processing and Education. We will also analyze the output of wikis, identify deficiencies and work to solve them. However, this will not be possible without several letters of support from several institutions. I ask if your research institution can send us a letter of support so that we can have the approval of the Tunisian Ministry of Higher Education to create our new research unit.
Yours Sincerely,
