All I found was that this paraphrasing tool works better than the others that one could obtain on a Google search. I do not mean to say that it will substitute a human effort. Nevertheless, it might still be better than nothing. In uncomplicated cases it could possibly still give a reasonably good output. Human discretion still would be essential else  we would "no longer know that the dog is brown".

James: I doubt if legalities would be an issue. In effect it is a derivative work. Is a manual translation not a derivative work as well?

Doing word substitution is not enough to get around "copy and paste" issues. It may make them harder to detect but legally it does not solve the problem.

It just substitutes words from a thesaurus, no sentence or paragraph restructuring. That would take AI I suppose.

I find this machine translation to be impressive indeed. With a bit of application of mind we might need to work a lot less. Thanks Gwinyai for providing the machine output.

I have explored different avenues regarding this administration. I discovered it some way or another better than other comparable rewording devices. Obviously you would at present need to apply your minds to check whether they have picked the correct option words. Else your grin could progress toward becoming another person's smile. Your lawful firm could move toward becoming 'honest to goodness unbending nature' (whatever that may mean).. et cetera.

By and by it makes a decent showing with regards to like or superior to anything the interpretation done by Google decipher.

I have experimented with this service. I found it somehow superior to other similar paraphrasing tools. Of course you would still have to apply your wits to check whether they have chosen the right alternative words. Else your smile could become somebody else's grin. Nevertheless it does a good job similar to or better than the translation done by Google translate.

No, they are not likely to have any copyright over the rephrased sentences. The sentences are machine generated and therefore not an intellectual work and therefore not under purview of intellectual property protection. A confirmation can still be sought by writing to support@spinbot.com . Nevertheless, the tool produced by this company definitely is their intellectual property and we cannot 'copy' the tool.

Just wondering, if I am using Microsoft word to compose and MS Word Autocorrect gives a modification suggestion, does Microsoft own the copyright for the re-engineered sentence accepted by me as per its suggestion? Surely not.

The entire thing is as per my understanding. If anybody finds a lacuna, please feel free to point it out.

Wonderful. Thanks for sharing.
I wonder though, this is a .com company. Doesn't that mean that they'll have copyrights of the rephrased sentences?

Best,

Hi

I would like to draw attention to a paraphrasing tool available at:

I found that it paraphrases reasonably well. It can be of good utility in cases of copy-vio or where tools to check plagiarism give suspicious response.
