Wanting to edit on the nl.wikipedia I found my IP blocked. All of the IP's of my Thai internet provider are blocked it seems. So I cannot edit nl.wikipedia!
On nl: user RonaldB has a private project of AUTOBLOCKING all open proxies. All Thai providers use open proxies. So now I am blocked and cannot log in. RonaldB never got agreement on nl: for this nor is this a wikimedia policy to stop all users in Thailand from editing. Still
I AM FUCKING BLOCKED AGAIN.
Waerth
Open proxies are banned from all Wikimedia projects.
But Thailand, according to you, runs entirely on open proxies.
We'll have to make an exception.

I was busy writing on the bangkok bombings. And if this is wiki policy why does en.wikipedia allow these ip's to edit. The strangest thing is. I am logged in. So I should be able to edit. but I get the message that the ip is blocked because of open proxy. These ip's are the range of my provider. Which has 500.000 subscribers.

I don't think it's that English Wikipedia allows them, it's that they haven't been blocked yet.
I don't know if Dutch Wikipedia has a formal requesting-unblock system in place but leave some sort of message on your talk page saying the autoblock doesn't allow you to edit. At least on English Wikipedia, open proxy blocks get lifted this way.

CE Gerbennn avanschelven
because they say open proxy blocking is correct. This means I can never edit nl.wikipedia anymore.

Hello Waerth,
Ask them to modify the block so as it to block only anonymous users using those open proxies. This option is available since 2 or 3 months. I think, it should solve both your problem (and any other registered or future registred users one) and their problem (vandals using open proxy to avoid being blocked).
Regards, Jerome

No, they are not. On nl:Wikipedia they have not been blocked, partly exactly for the reason Waerth mentions. Apart from that, if they are blocked everywhere, then who has decided this?
The whole range of my provider was blocked by RonaldB tonight Andre.

My understanding is that there is such a prohibition: http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/WM:OP http://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/WM:NOP
Beyond that, I don't have the answers.

I do not think there is any other wikipedia where it so easy to ask for help like on the NL Wikipedia if you have problem like this.
- you can ask help on IRC - you can contact wikipedia NL by email private (since end of 2002!). Emails are mostly answerd in a couple of hours - you can contact the blocking admin directly by private email - you can use WikiNL-l
That are all means of contact you know exist.
Every time you get angry about anything you come and complain here on this off topic list regarding you local NL-problems. That is very annoying.

Hoi, The argument is good. However, the blocking of Waerth has already happened certainly more than five times. At some stage it is not reasonable to ask people to be "reasonable", particularly when because of the repetitive nature of this there is no "learning" done by the other party, in this case the nl.wikipedia. I can appreciate that this is very annoying the shoe is however on the other foot. Thanks, GerardM
