What made me happy this week is the release of
our latest converter
(check
it out:
https://or.wikipedia.org/s/14kh) that
converts the Odia-language
text into International Phonetic Alphabet and Roman. We have been
struggling for some time now to add pronunciations for words and could
not
find anything that could do that job. So another
fellow Wikimedian
Prateek
Pattanaik I scraped the code from an existing
converter and created this.
Now we are going to integrate this into our pronunciation project
Kathabhidhana (
https://github.com/OdiaWikimedia/Kathabhidhana) where we
create pronunciations of words. The next batch of audio recordings will
come on Commons with IPA and Romanization. Yay for more metadata! :)

Greetings,
