Hi all,
Wikimedia Europe is organising an *online Child Safety Training for Wikimedians https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wikimedia_Europe/Advocacy/Child_Safety_Trainig*. It will take place on *4 November 2025*.
This will be a modified online version of the child safety training session https://wikimania.wikimedia.org/wiki/Event:Wikimania/Day_Zero_Child_Safety_Training organised during Wikimania 2025 in Nairobi.
The basic idea is to provide necessary knowledge to editors and users on the specific threats to be aware of, assessing situations and how to react.
It is free for anyone to register https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSegC5G8LNiq4lGQXmXy3aO6GlccRBDOZQHySjUsNAps_gNPnw/viewform?usp=preview .
Best, Dimi
Hi, Thank you for the training. It would be great to know who is the target audience. Is it the event organizers? On-wiki admins? Children active in the movement (we have admins and many active editors)? T&S officers (people responsible for friendly space policy in events for example)? or any other group.
It wasn't obvious to me when reading the page and it's hard for me to decide whether I should get the training or not. For example, if it's aimed at children and I show up, it'd be inappropriate.
Thank you!

Hi,
Sorry I am answering just now. It is primarily targeted at project editors and users. It will focus on the online, rather than offline space.
Of course, users with extended rights are a perfect fit, but everyone else is also welcome and could benefit, imo.
Dimi
