Dear Wikimedians,
this is to let you know we've added Wikimedia Poland's 2019 report to Meta, and you can read it at:
For ease of reading and a richer experience ;) I suggest looking at the PDF version, available at:
Highlights of 2019 at Wikimedia Poland
- hosted 3 major community events, including a conference focused solely on Polish Wikisource and Wiktionary, which animated those smaller communities (steal this idea!),
- started a new set of initiatives around Education with the hiring of Klara Sielicka-Baryłka (our first employee dedicated to work in the education sector),
- created a 3-year strategic development plan for the organization
(more on this in our 2020 report), - kicked off transformation of management practices and internal process revamp with the hiring of Łukasz Garczewski as Chief Operating Officer (our first full-time manager).
About this report
The report is a translation of a portion of the board's report to Wikimedia Poland's Annual General Meeting, approved by members in June 2020.
Due to COVID restrictions we've had to move our AGM to June and hold it on-line (also a first for us).
The report was submitted to WMF's Grantmaking team back in June, but not added to Meta until now.
If you have any questions, please let us know by replying to this email.
And since New Year's Even is just days away – here's to a great 2021. Wherever you are, we hope you raise a glass to another 12 years of building the sum of human knowledge. ;)
