Koine Greek is not Ancient Greek. Merely using it in the liturgy
counts for nothing in any case the language remains fossilised. Simply
Kyrie eleison on a slightly larger scale. The catholic church actually
publishes a significant number of new documents in Latin.
It is not used solely in the liturgy, and new texts are being written in it
today.
