Another month of Wikimedia and education stories is here. The June 2026 edition of the EduWiki Newsletter brings together 16 new stories from communities across the Wikimedia movement.

In Bangladesh, graduate students at Dinajpur Government College were introduced to Wikipedia through an editathon that connected academic learning with open knowledge contributions.

Across Nigeria, Rwanda, and Tanzania, the Wiki Digi-Youth Clubs pilot continued exploring challenge-based learning to help young people build Wikimedia skills, teamwork, and digital literacy.

In Portugal, universities continued integrating Wikipedia into teaching and research through a growing range of collaborative education activities.

A story on Strengthening Wikimedia Education Through Community Learning and Digital Literacy Initiatives highlights approaches to supporting beginners, women, and youth through structured learning and mentorship.

In Argentina, the 25x25 Project – Celebrating Wikipedia is bringing together schools, artists, and communities to celebrate Wikipedia's 25th anniversary through collaborative mural projects.

The Philippines shares highlights from Bikol WikiConference 2026, bringing together educators, researchers, writers, and Wikimedians to advance Wikimedia in education.

The EduWiki Hub marks two milestones this month with the publication of its first Community Newsletter and the launch of the EduWiki Hub Starter Kit for educators and volunteers.

In Botswana, two stories showcase the Limkokwing School Adoption Program 2026 and the Wikimedia Volunteer Focus Group, both focused on building skills and strengthening participation in Wikimedia projects.

In Serbia, preparations are underway for Edu Wiki Camp 2026, while Kosovo highlights the use of Wikipedia's translation tool as an extra-credit university assignment.

Brazil continues mapping Wikimedia education activities across universities. 

A mentee reflects on six months in the EduWiki Hub Mentorship Program and the journey of building a sustainable education initiative.

Kenya demonstrates how mobile photography can support contributions to Wikimedia Commons.

Finally, Rwanda shares the impact of the Wiki Digi Youth Clubs Initiative in strengthening digital literacy and open education.
