Yes, that's a very good idea. That's the main reason I got involved there, and the main reason I continue to be. The fact of the matter is that if you want Commons to provide service to your project, the best people to do that is... people from that project. Commons isn't a closed community - you're welcome to join and help out.

I would likewise hope that Commons editors are active on other wikis, as well, for the same reason.
Better participation and communication might help a lot of these problems. We can, I hope, meet the needs of all of our projects.
