Hello,
The Movement Charter Drafting Committee has concluded its first community review of the ratification methodology draft, which will be used to ratify the Wikimedia Movement Charter in 2024.
This first community review included feedback collection on Meta[1], on the Movement Strategy forum[2] as well as two live conversation hours[3] with communities, and one conversation with different Committees of the Wikimedia projects. Documentation from the conversations can be found here[5]: click on the 'expand' link to see all details. The Drafting Committee greatly appreciates everyone's input!
A recording of the Committee's presentation[4] is uploaded to Commons, and the pdf document with the presentation slides used is also available there.[6]
The WMF support team will produce a report on the community input in May 2023. The Drafting Committee will incorporate the feedback and share an updated version of the ratification methodology in September-November 2023[7].
The Drafting Committee will continue conversations with stakeholders in the meantime, regarding the ratification but also about the actual charter content. Please keep an eye out for the updated versions of the first three drafts on Meta, and expect us to share new Charter content with you around the time of this years' Wikimania.
