Hi Oscar,
It's pretty much well known to folks using the Internet in China that
any site, not just Wikipedia, is subject to blocking if the page
contains sensitive keywords, so not sure there is much WP community
can do other than to just chug along. At least this is a lot better
than just last year when it was all blocked

Heh,...
1. Do we know what these sensitive keywords are?
Generally what is dubbed 3T1F : Tiananmen, Tibet and Taiwan
independence, Falungong. You had the weird/amusing case of last week's
(good) news of cross-strait direct China-Taiwan flights being stopped
by the Great Firewall because the Chinese words for "cross-strait"
triggered blocks. Such is the problem with simple keyword blocking.
2. Any point in munging them during the olympics?
Not particularly, as most reporters hopefully will have access to some
type of VPN. I've given some talks to the journalist groups here about
that.
3. Would it make any difference in the long run?
When one controls the hardware routers between your browser and the
web sites, that's where most of the power lies. Technical means can
only do so much in the long run.
