Dear Wikimedia Community Members,
We are writing to announce the upcoming Rapid Fund [1] and General Support Fund [2] round cycles and process timelines for the coming fiscal year (July 1, 2024 – June 30, 2025).
== Rapid Fund timelines ==
In mid-July, we will share information about changes happening in the Rapid Fund program. These changes are based on and in support of WMF’s Annual Plan for 2024/2025 [3]. Our commitment is to continue providing resources to the movement under the Equity goal, while also helping the movement take specific steps towards subsidiarity in resource distribution. More details about what this entails, how it will be implemented, and the specific partners within the movement that we will be working with to realise this goal, will be shared in subsequent communications.
In the upcoming fiscal year, there will be 5 Rapid Funds Cycles. You can find the timelines on Meta-Wiki [4]. Please take note of the campaigns impacted that should be put in their application for resourcing support. If you are leading a campaign and it is missing from the list, please let us know.
Rapid Fund's budget is a part of the Wikimedia Community Fund for each region. The Regional Fund Committees, along with representatives of affiliate EDs and with guidance from the Community Resources team, are currently working together to establish next year's budget regional distribution. We will announce the Rapid Fund's portion of the final regional budgets by the second half of July together with the entire Community Fund budget per region.
== General Support Funds round timelines per region ==
General Support Funds round timelines [5] are published on Meta-Wiki.
Please note that in some regions we will have a different deadline for those who are submitting a simple renewal of their previous application in FY23 (2023-24) and for those who submit a newly written application.
More detailed information regarding the General Support Fund, including the finalized regional budgets and any changes, will be provided in the second half of July.
Please reach out to the Regional Program Officer [6] for the support you need on any of the funding programs.
With kind regards,
Community Resources Team
