It's always been my impression that you
fundamentally disagree with
the idea of allowing a popular reference work to be written by anyone
who wants to participate, advanced education or no. Perhaps this is
because you view Wikipedia as an attempt at educating the public.
Then your impression was wrong. I think the system should make it easier
for those with a knowledge of their subject to edit, that's all. I have
always been excited by the way that a crowd of mostly amateurs can write
perfectly good articles in a way that is accurate and interesting. There is
much to praise in Wikipedia.
