with more money than sense were forever litigating against defendants
with less sense than money.
"More money than sense" = "less sense than money", n'est-ce pas?
I thought that was probably intentional. A joke along the lines of it
never being a good idea to get involved in a court case, whatever side
you're on (unless you're the lawyer, of course). Similar to the
description of a stock trader on the wrong side of a trade being "the
greater fool".
