Dear all,
After conducting conversations with many Wikimedians from around the world who are planning or working on possible future hubs, we are happy to share the findings summary https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:Hubs_Dialogue_Findings_Summary.pdf[1] from the series of the Hubs Dialogue https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Hubs/Dialogue.[2]
The results focus on the aspect of the existing problems in the Wikimedia movement that the hubs may be needed to solve, including both: 1. globally shared needs among all Wikimedia communities, and 2. needs specific to the context of a particular community or a group of communities.
This report will be presented and discussed at the upcoming Hubs Global Conversations https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Hubs/Global_Conversations_March_12,_2022 on 12th March,[3] which is organized by the Movement Strategy & Governance Team https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Movement_Strategy_and_Governance/About.[4] We hope that the conversation will be a step in defining what hubs are, and what could be their future role in the movement. If interested, kindly make sure to register before the registration closes at the end of today!
Welcoming your feedback during the event, on this mailing list or, as always, on-wiki.
Best, Abbad.
