Aw, come on now. That's not really a problem. We can certainly give Jimbo and/or the Board of Trustees the additional power to assign up to 25% of unassigned donated money to development task.
I don't know that we could. It might piss off some donors if we said we'll use this for hardware, and we end up using it for software features. Although we do have some money that wasn't donated, and we could certainly advertise that doners could donate toward a specific feature/bug.
The prize we had in june has no string attached, so might be spent for rewarding developers. Also, I think that membership fees and donation should make it possible that the donor or the member may be able to indicate how if wishes part of the money to be spent.
