Wikimedia projects would not be possible without the work of the countless volunteers, passionately working on bringing free knowledge to the world. Each month we WikiCelebrate one of those volunteers and their amazing work. [1]

This weekend, WikiCon India [2] happened in Hyderabad. It was an opportunity for strengthening bonds, storytelling and sharing experiences. But also for celebrating someone from the Indic community, Malayalam Wikipedia admin Meenakshi nandhini [3]. She is an author of 8,762 articles in Malayalam and believes that Wikipedia is a treasure for the future. Spending an hour on Wikipedia can benefit millions. Visit WikiCelebrate to learn more about Meenakshi and congratulate her [4] or read about her on Diff. [5]

Each month we will celebrate a different Wikimedian, acknowledging the great people that have contributed so much to bringing us to where we are today, and continue to do so. We warmly invite you to write about the people celebrated each month. If you know them, share some wiki love. If there’s an outstanding Wikimedian that you think should be celebrated, recommend them. [6]

Happy celebrating
Natalia and Mehrdad
