On World Disability Day (3rd December 2012) special workshop was conducted at U.S Consulate Mumbai. Event started with talk by U.S Consul General Peter Haas on 'Internet Freedom' and he explained how internet is working as catalyst throughout globe. Bishakha Datta, Trustee of Wikimedia Foundation spoke about Wikipedia in 21st century, and how it is useful to share knowledge. Q & A was conducted after both talks. Basic introduction to Wikipedia session was conducted. After session, there was brainstorming session on How Spoken Wikipedia can empower India and how it can be beneficial to disabled. Many attendees agreed to volunteer to record developed articles on Indian Language Wikipedia. Another discussion happened regarding having tie-up with cell phone companies to circulate recorded articles. Event concluded with presentation by U.S Embassy Adviser on 'Education and US' followed by visa related questions and answers.
