On account of Independence Day, we had decided to go for an additional GA of the month for August 2012. The nominations and voting were closed on 20th July itself as we already had less time to work and achieve the desired goal.
Work began immediately on the article and within 10 days, the article was a GA!! Thanks to the brilliant efforts by the editors and the reviewer involved. We were able to achieve the goal well in advance and even aimed for a FAC!
- During the period of collaboration, 277 edits were made by 54 users.
- Lead section was improved.
- 2 new images were added to the article.
- 45 references were added and consistency amongst them was ensured.
- Major contributors were User:Dwaipayanc, User:Karthikndr and myself. We have already received barnstars (Independence Day (India) badge) which was made by the reviewer User:Titodutta.
- This GA would not have been possible without the fantastic review carried out by Tito. I'd like to thank him on behalf of all the contributors and WikiProject India. Also kudos to the guest reviewer User:Vanischenu.
- Currently, the article is Featured Article Candidate (FAC). The article will take some time I guess to get reviewed.
