Ashwani,

Trust me, I too get frustrated by "notability Slavery" but their is a point in this. You see, notability does not mean fame, it means the ability to independently verify whats written in an article. Let's say that you mention that the principal of the school is X and a year later the real principal of the school, let's say Y comes back and says that no, I am the Principal then Wikipedia would be forced to chose between your word and Y's. To avoid this kind of confrontation Wikipedia always asks you to source your information to a reliable source such as a newspaper, book etc. so, when such a confrontation arises, Wikipedia can mention that this is what the published information said at that time and also show that you did not have any malicious intentions for pushing X's name.

I hope this clears the air about Notability, now getting down to schools in general. The Wikipedia guidelines states that the school should be subject to independent coverage for its curriculum etc. A good point of start could be sports events, cultural events etc. for which a school might have been published. Even school toppers get covered sometimes. I know this might force you print certain facts and withhold some others, and this might change the presentation a bit. But remember at all times that all articles on Wikipedia belong to everybody and many different people work on an article over its evolution. you can always start a small article with some verifiable facts and leave it to others to fill in the blanks.

Happy editing and do reply if you need any help.

We got to get out of this "slave to notability" mindset. We need to develop our own rulesets. If we feel it doesn't deserve an article of its own we could have these listed in a "List of schools in district X" type of catchall.

Fully agree with u Tinu, thats a trend that if it isnt in google..it doesnt exist... We have seen this issue in ml wiki much before while the kerala govt has started the schoolwiki.in, a similar trend of adding schools article gone high in ml.wikipedia. The problem is notability,
Its notable for a district...a state... Not for the globe????
No online reference..."online"...???
Thats where we need to find out more alternatives..

While the previous efforts for consensus have failed  to make a policy on the Notability of the Schools ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Notability_%28schools%29 ),
It may be a good idea for us to work on some guidelines on Indian Schools under [[WP:INDIA]] perspective.

While many of the reputed schools in India have probably larger notability ( but no articles on them) than many schools in the west that have full fledged Wikipedia articles , we should seriously look at this situation.

I am not sure of this particular school, but a school since 1945 might be really notable. But in India, we have a bigger problem of inadequacy of online references. We tend to think as if it isn't on Google, it probably doesn't exist.

Just my 2 1/4 paisa.

It should be speedy deleted. No notability. So should many similar school article. Wikipedia is an encyclopedia not yellow pages.
