I would lean for option 3, intuit which has a decent big cafeteria ( accom 150-200) ppl and also has separate rooms ( with projectors ?) for parallel sessions. I attended the last barcamp there.

IIITB is again a good option but slightly far which might discourage the city crowd from coming. Less time to do PR to pull people till Electronics city , IMHO. But if we can set up things faster, yes.

TERI can accommodate ~100-120 people and won't allow parallel sessions though.

My preferences:

1 if we have funds. We should confirm availability soon.

3 seems to be a good middle ground.

If we expect a good crowd and wouldn't mind the distance, I can vouch for the facilities at IIIT B. I can follow up on this if the majority votes for this. I am an alumnus.

Subject: [Wikimedia-in-blr] Venue for Wiki X
Sent: Thu, Dec 30, 2010 6:58:32 PM

Hi all,

Time is running out and we need to quickly decide upon the venue for Wiki X event.

Few options :-

1 ) TERI, near CIS can seat upto 100-150 will cost us 11.5 k. in the city but lesser Capacity, no seperate spaces for parallel tracks.
2 ) IIIT B, Electronic city - Huge auditorium can seat 300 and even more on other classrooms. Mostly might be free venue, IIITB students attending event and enthusiastic management but distance from city.
3 ) Intuit,Global village, ORR - Can seat upto 150-200 people mostly might be free, slightly out of city, but can attract "IT crowd".

Please let the list know of your opinions for us to decide on it sooner. Sooner the better :) Thanks.

Regards
