Hello community,

The Wikimedia Foundation Board of Trustees has appointed Bernadette Meehan as the next Chief Executive Officer of the Wikimedia Foundation. She will officially assume the role on 20 January 2026.

Bernadette has built her career in positions focused on public service and mission-driven work. Most recently, she served as the U.S. Ambassador to Chile from 2022 to 2025.

Our current CEO, Maryana Iskander, will continue in her role through the transition to ensure a seamless handover.
