I wish to draw your attention to the activities outlined for the rest of the year. I promised fun and lots of goodies for the rest of the year right? I am a man of my word so just a little advice for y’all, stay tuned and active for the rest of the year.

The only reason we continue to exist as a group or a community is solely dependent on the total number of edits we possess as a group. It is therefore mandatory for every existing member of this community to report how many edits they are able to obtain weekly. Statutorily we expect each member to report a minimum of 3 edits a week, it could be an edit from any Wikimedia project (from Wikipedia to Wikimedia Commons). Emphasis on edits please! It’s your only visa for a continual stay with us. Please find the form for regular end of week edit reports below.

We would be holding regular meetings once every quarter, thus 3 regular meetings till year end.  Partnership with Barcamp Ghana to ensure our presence at every Barcamp event to be held, this will entail two volunteers each time at a Barcamp event to host a breakout session on Wikipedia. To help us do this, we will need you all to fill the form below indicating where you live so we can connect you with upcoming Barcamps in your locality. This avenue will help us reach out more effectively and aid in recruiting members

Monthly trainings will be held via the mailing list. This may come in the form of an email sharing tips on a particular tool and (or) a proper presentation document of the tool or topic. Anybody could be called upon to do this, don’t be scared it’s just an avenue to learn; besides you will have a month to prepare. Regular competitions will also be held via the mailing list. This will usually consist of a task after which a prize is awarded to the winner.

We look forward to climax these years’ activities with a major edit-a-thon event on the 21st of September, 2014. The day which is dubbed the National Volunteer Day by the GhanaThink’s Ghana Volunteer Program is a better platform to call on more hands (volunteers) to ensure a substantial number of edits on the day.

Watch out for some magic days ahead, I promise it will be fun:-)

Cheers,
