Hi sandi, i m just one of the hundred thousands editors :)

Beeing paid for creating an article about a living person, existing company, etc is to my knowledge not well received. besides, that the price for such a service is much higher :) Sarah took a three digit number, it was considered cheap, and she got her contract terminated by wmf. Despite she is a well reputed editor.

My personal wish would be that the English wikipedia could come up with a proper system of marking conflict of interest edits. But currently they are not there yet.

Asaf, what is your opinion?

I think whoever does this should speak to Rupert for advice. I think we should get second opinion as well. Someone has been sacked from WMF for paid editing. WMF is also battling PR companies doing this. I sent an article to this mailing list concerning it.

Let's sort this thing and its implications out once and for all.

I am happy for the motivation it will bring to the editor but I don't want the community dragged into any scandal.

Getting the context right is crucial. In this case it's PR. That's not a good one.

Regards,
Sandister Tei
