Hello, all. It’s time to strategize!

In the words of Katherine Maher the Executive Director of Wikimedia Foundation:

“Wikimedia belongs to all of us. We all have a stake in the future of Wikimedia.”

However, she asks also, “... Where is Wikimedia going?


16 years ago Wikipedia came onto the scene and was soon joined by other Wikimedia projects and a movement that formed and continues to grow around the wikis.


As an individual editor and also a member of the Wikimedia Ghana User Group, you are part of the movement.


Your help is needed to address some questions regarding Wikimedia 2030 – the global discussion to define Wikimedia’s future role in the world in the next 15 years.

The key question remains, Where is the Wikimedia movement going?” Also, “How should projects like Wikipedia change over the next 15 years?”



We will work together to summarize the responses I get and record them here:

I was particularly interested in emerging communities, one of which is our user group.
