INVITATION TO PARTICIPATE IN SOFTWARE FREEDOM DAY 2014

The Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT (AITI-KACE) is pleased to invite you to participate in the Software Freedom Day 2014 scheduled for September 20, 2014 at the AITI-KACE premises.  

Software Freedom Day (SFD) is an annual grassroots effort to educate the public on the benefits of Free/Open Source Software and also to encourage its use. The event is intended to showcase the advantages of Open Source technologies, as well as the opportunities and value addition it brings to organisations and Ghana's emerging economy.
Activities to take place and issues to be discussed during the celebration include:

• Apps showcase
• Software clinic for Small and Medium Enterprises
• Workshop on installation of Linux distributions
• Exhibition of open source software projects
• Public awareness on impact of open source technology on Ghana's growth.
• Harnessing open source (especially social media, mobile solutions, e-learning etc.) to achieve organisational objectives.
• Open source for national development
• Free distribution of open source tools

Time: 9:00am – 3:00pm

Venue: Ghana-India Kofi Annan Centre of Excellence in ICT 2nd Ridge Opposite Council of State, Accra. Off the GIJ/GFA road.
