I am an active member and an editor within the Wiki Gh Community.
I joined the community to contribute my quota in helping increase Ghanaian and African content on Wikipedia.
I heard about Wiki Indaba from the PWMG mailing list as well as Wiki Africa Mailing list.
I put in my application and I was successful.
I networked with other Wikipedians to find out what they were doing in their respective countries and their success stories and their lapses I could learn from if we wanted to replicate such projects in Ghana.
I also learnt a lot about Creative Commons and open sources. Lastly I contributed to the various discussions by bringing out the issues Wikipedia had from the Ghanaian perspective and proffered some solutions too at the break out sections.
Wiki Indaba was well organized conference which was worth itIt gave me that opportunity to meet other Wikipedians in Africa and share notes and thoughts with them.It was quite packed but I think there should have been more trainings.
I am hoping to increase my edits and also contribute meaningfully to other Wikipedia projects in the community.I will also like to personally embark on projects for Wikipedia
I wasn't supporting Ghana so I wasn't too shocked by the outcome. My reason for not supporting the team was because I realized the whole world campaign was politicized and devoid of the elements of patriotism and nationalism. It was clearly a campaign to enrich some influential people.
