host two editathons under the Africa Wiki Challenge 2026

provided event space, refreshments and lunch, enabling organisers to focus
on bringing contributors together to improve content on the Ghanaian Pidgin
Wikipedia.

English Wikipedia 101 Workshop & Editathon in Accra
On 13 June, new and returning editors came together at the Work From Home
Workspace in Accra for an English Wikipedia 101 workshop and editathon.
Participants strengthened their editing skills, made new contributions, and
connected with fellow Wikimedians.

Ga Wikipedia Incubator Workshop
On 20 June, WMGH hosted a workshop to create content for the Ga Wikipedia
Incubator <https://incubator.wikimedia.org/wiki/Wp/gaa/Baafa_oti>.
Participants learned the basics of Wikipedia <http://wikipedia.org> editing
and created new articles to support the growth of the Ga Wikipedia in
Incubator to a full fledged Wikipedia.

English Wikipedia 101 Workshop with MFWA
As part of our Knowledge Equity Fund Connected Grant
<https://meta.wikimedia.org/wiki/Knowledge_Equity_Fund> work, we held a
follow-up English Wikipedia 101 workshop with our grant partner, Media
Foundation for West Africa (MFWA) <http://mfwa.org>. Personnel built on
their introductory training by improving their editing skills and
contributing new edits to Wikipedia.

Women's Wikipedia Workshop in Kumasi
In partnership with Women's Haven Africa, WMGH organised an English
Wikipedia 101 workshop for women in Kumasi under our Write the Internet
project. Nineteen women were introduced to Wikipedia editing and learned
skills needed to improve the representation of women on Wikipedia.

Wiki Loves Places Ghana 2026 Comes to a Close
Wiki Loves Places Ghana 2026

concluded in June after two months of documenting places across Ghana.
During the campaign, participants uploaded over 500 geotagged photos to
Wikimedia Commons, while office hours and an OpenStreetMap session
supported contributors throughout the campaign.
