The Walters Art Museum is hosting a hackathon this upcoming weekend, July 27-29, in Baltimore. I think you would be welcome, even if you aren't quite as technical, but can help with things like documentation.
The Walters has provided ~20,000 images to Wikimedia Commons and sure there could be some hack or gadget that makes use of them. :)
