Wow! I'm in a little bit of shock, actually. Just because you're up and leavin' DC yourself! Well that's really awesome, <3 Germany.

And yes, thanks Katie for all you've done to get the ball rolling on Wikimedia DC and leading the troops through thick and thin. I know our faithful leaders will do a great job to continue that.

Sadly I'll be out of the country during the March 10 meet up, so I suppose I might not see you before you leave. So if that is the case, travel safe, enjoy your experience and we'll talk online of course, and see you in July :)

I want to let everyone know that I am resigning as President of Wikimedia DC, effective at the end of March.

I will be spending a year in Germany and prefer someone local take on the role of President of the chapter.  I am willing to remain on the Board of Directors in a non-officer role and continue on the Wikimania 2012 organizing team. (I'll be back in June to help out)

Huge thanks to Nicholas, James, Kirill, Tiffany, Kristin, and Kevin for their excellent leadership and sure they will take the chapter to the next level, with increased capacity to do outreach and support volunteers.

And thank you to all the members who have supported and been involved with the chapter and Wikimedia outreach in the DC region!

Cheers,
Katie

PS - hope to see folks at our next meetup on March 10:
