The Wiki Society of Washington, DC Inc. ("Society") hereby announces that an election of the Society's Board of Directors shall take place at the Society's first Annual Membership Meeting on October 1, 2011. The election shall fill all seven seats on the Board of Directors; four Directors (those receiving the highest number of votes) will be elected for two-year terms, and three Directors for one-year terms.
The Election Committee invites all persons interested in standing for election to the Board of Directors to submit a declaration of candidacy to the Committee at
election2011@wikidc.org. Each submission must include the following information:
1) The candidate's full legal name;
2) A statement that the candidate has attained the age of majority;
3a) A statement that the candidate is currently a member in good standing of the Society; or
3b) A statement that the candidate intends to become a member in good standing of the Society if elected;
4) A candidate statement of up to 500 words in length.
Nominations must be received by 11:59 PM EDT on Saturday, September 24 in order for the candidate's name to appear on the ballot.
All candidates' names and candidate statements will be posted for public viewing on the Society's website (
http://wikidc.org/wiki/Elections/2011). Candidates are requested to be present at the October 1 meeting of the Society, since the agenda includes the selection of the Society's Officers by those elected as Directors, and because candidates may -- if time permits -- have the opportunity to speak briefly about their candidacy.
On behalf of the Election Committee,
Kirill
This is just a reminder that all candidate submissions are due by 11:59 PM EDT _today_. If you are interested in serving as a member of the Board of Directors, please make sure that you submit your nomination statement to the Election Committee.
