That sounds like a really great idea. Pressing the like button,
+1.
I'm sure that once this takes off, WMF would be happy to help promote
this on the blog, twitter, facebook, etc., with the official Wikipedia
handles.

>> Subject: [Wikimedia-DC] "I'm a Wikipedian" Campaign
>>
>> Following discussions arising from Tuesday's Board of Directors'
>> meeting and conversations with Samuel Klein (user:sj), I started to
>> seriously consider organizing an online social media campaign around
>> the theme "I'm a Wikipedian"
>>
>> The campaign, should we decide to take it on, would utilize
>> twitter/facebook/youtube/other social media outlets. We would
>> encourage users to talk about how Wikipedia fits into their everyday
>> life. Participants need not be regular Wikipedia editors. They could
>> be scientists, artists, kids, CEOs, nurses, whoever, and their use of
>> Wikipedia could range from looking up a fact about a city they're
>> visiting, to uploading spectacular images or illustrations they've
>> done, to organizing a project on updating information about the
>> Chesapeake Bay, etc.
>>
>> Participants would submit a short video (15-30 seconds) about
>> themselves and how they've been using Wikipedia. At the end of the
>> message, they would say "I'm a such and such (i.e. student, math
>> teacher, scientist, photographer, etc.), and I'm a Wikipedian,"
>> followed by the slogan "Your World: Your Wikipedia" and the Wikipedia
>> logo, if we're allowed to use it.
>>
>> Hopefully, if the project goes well enough, then you can have people
>> from all over the world send in videos in various languages. The goal
>> is to show that we are all Wikipedians, no matter what our background
>> is.
