If Keilana can come to Seattle, I think a good time for a workshop with her would be prior to, or in conjuction with, the edit-a-thon that is in planning for early 2015 at UW. Some info about Wikiconference USA 2015: Harej says that WMDC is willing to be the fiscal sponsor for the event anywhere in the US, and he is in discussions about setting up a team of organizers. The location is still to be determined. I like the idea of co-locating the event with the OpenStreetMap event at the United Nations in NYC, as well as the idea of co-locating the event with a librarian conference in San Francisco. OK. Keilana, can you tell us what good weeks would be on your schedule for the next few months? We can take this scheduling discussion off-list to provide some privacy and keep the list traffic relatively light. As for the WikiConference, I thought we were looking at 2016 for Seattle, and our (soon) board members in general seem cautious about adding a national conference to our 2015 agenda. We aleady have tentative 2015 plans to support a sizeable edit-a-thon at UW and possibly a significant outreach event at WSU. We might also want to support the community data science workshops in future rounds. Adding the hosting of Wikiconference USA to our 2015 plans would be very ambitious. I think 2016 is a realistic time for hosting Wikiconference USA here. Of course, Cascadians can volunteer individually to help with the Wikiconference in 2015, and we might want to help as a group, but I think it is realistic to say that we have only so much bandwidth and we need to use it and develop it wisely and sustainably (: Regards, Pine
