Hello,
A few weeks ago wrote about a job opening for a Wikipedian who is based
either in Seattle or in Mateo, California. I got some questions so I will
share what other information I have, all of which is public. The deadline
for applying is Friday 13 January. I wish that some good candidates could
come from Seattle.
The hiring organization is OCLC, a long-time partner of Wikipedia. They
hired a Wikipedian named Max Klein in 2012 who did a bot and database
project that was a precursor to many contemporary Wikidata projects. Since
then OCLC has sent staff to Wikipedia events regularly, particularly to
Wikimania.
Earlier this year OCLC won a grant from the Knight Foundation to do
outreach to public libraries. That is the focus of this present job opening.

I do not think that they actually got their full
funding request, so this
is not a high-budget project.
The Wikimedia Foundation gave them an additional grant to complement this
Knight Foundation request.

In this grant, they say that they are offering
compensation and benefits
equivalent to 70k/year.
OCLC is a great organization. I do not have inside information on the
position or the role but if anyone has any questions about wiki outreach
jobs in general then feel free to write me.
Thanks,
