Just a thought: The Wiki Loves Libraries campaign is held during October/November. That is a good opportunity to reach out to local libraries or institutions associated with libraries for a GLAM-related edit-a-thon. For example, in Portland we had one at the Art Museum's library. We have also had WLL events at Multnomah County's Central Library and the Vancouver (WA) Community Library. I can't remember if it came to fruition or not, but I seem to recall the Fyre Museum in Seattle wanting to collaborate with Wikipedia somehow. I think a collaboration with the Seattle Art Museum would also be great. (I, myself, still haven't finished creating entries for all of the sculptures at Olympic Sculpture Park, and surely the collection has many notable works deserving of Wikipedia entries.) 

Also, I plan to create a page for Washington meetups, much like the page for Portland/Oregon: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Meetup/Portland/Participants

It takes some time to create, but then it becomes very easy to send invitations to meetups or to participate in online campaigns, send collaboration of the week notices, etc. Would it be better to create the page under the WikiProject Washington umbrella, or the Meetup/Seattle umbrella? There is kind of a single list for Portland/Oregon meetups and WikiProject Oregon, but maybe this would not work as well for Seattle/Washington?

While we wait for the Quarterly goals for WMF Legal to play out, there surely should be _something_ on which we can move ahead beyond our monthly meetup. So I invite members of this list who cannot make it to the Seattle, Tuesday 10/14 meetup to share their ideas here, & for people who can make it to the meetup, please bring your ideas. I don't know if it would be worth it to do a Google Hangout or Skype at the meetup, but I could bring my Nexus 7 & test to see if it works over the Café Allegro's WiFi (my laptop is currently blind).

On another matter, last week Seattle OpenStreetMap submitted its bid for the the Spring 2015 State of The Map U.S. conference. Based on past performance, OpenStreetMap could decide between the bids in about two weeks. Out of the last five State of The Map U.S. conferences, two have been on the West Coast (S.F. & Portland) & that may work against Seattle, but I think the Seattle group has put in a pretty strong bid.
