Thanks for the quick replies, everyone.
It sounds like GAC and others are willing to accept the higher budget. I'm
ok with effectively loaning my personal funds to CWUG as long as I'm
confident that I will be reimbursed within a few weeks. Emphasis: I will
buy food for however many people sign up, with a max of 50; if we get only
30 signups then I'll scale the food and supplies purchases accordingly.
Lee: let's coordinate off-list about the format. Someone gave me the idea
that we could have board games after the lightning talks. And
get the signup link sent out to TA3M as soon as possible.
I'll set up the GAC/PEG request in a week or two when I have some so-called
free time. I'll need Cascadia Board approval for that.

We are fine with you combining the food costs
with other start-up costs
the group in a grant request. However,
considering the short timeline,
would not get the funds until after the event. It
you would like to
a request, I would encourage you to do so early
this week. Then the
could make a decision by early next week.
I'm also happy to front the cost for pizza and stuff and get
reimbursed later. I do this routinely for events at the University of
